Polyamide
Polyamide is a polymeric material or plastic produced by connecting synthetic high-molecular compounds. Amide groups must be present in the main chain of polyamides. Polyamides are highly polar and have both crystalline and amorphous regions, which contribute to their elasticity. Due to these properties, polyamide exhibits high strength, hardness, wear resistance, heat resistance, and a low coefficient of linear thermal expansion. The number of carbon atoms significantly affects the properties of the polymer material. A lower number increases the melting point, specific gravity, and water absorption, while a higher number ensures high elasticity and impact resistance.
Today, polyamides are widely used across various industries, including:
- Mechanical engineering;
- Textile industry;
- National economy;
- Medicine;
- Food industry, and more.
Polyamides possess enhanced mechanical properties that set them apart from other materials, making them suitable for various applications.
